In his very first race for Team KIA Elite, Jo-Joe Hamunyela today won the WPP 5 road race on the Dordabis road over a distance of 80Km.

 

 

Gobabis MTB Challenge, the perfect venue and tracks to finish the 2017 Gravel & Dirt MTB Series.

 

The defending champion Xavier Papo took the win for the men with Michelle Vorster winning the ladies race over 65Km.

Nedbank Spring Festival a huge success with hundreds of athletes showing up to celebrate Spring in Windhoek.

 

 

 

2017 Tour De Windhoek a huge success. Team BCX from South Africa winning the Open Teams competition.

Team Pro Touch also from South Africa finished 3rd and Team KIA Elite 3rd.

Max Knox from South Africa won the Nedbank Namibian National XCO Championships this past weekend.

Xavier Papo (MBM), the first Namibian finished 2nd and was crowned Elite National XCO Champion for 2017 with Martin Freyer finishing 3rd and Tristan De Lange 4th.

 

As expected, Michelle Vorster (Team KIA Elite) won the Elite Womens category and took the Elite Womens National Champion Jersey with her. Irene Steyn finished in 2nd.

Today the last race in the Nedbank Rock and Rut XC Series took place on Farm Windhoek, IJG Trails.

Xavier Papo (MBM) won the series for Elite Men and Tristan de Lange (MBM), the current African XCO Champion won the U23 Mens category.

In the womens race the the Namibian Olympian, Michelle Vorster, riding in the colors of Team KIA Elite won the series with Irene Steyn (MBM) in 2nd.

Africa Safari Lodge MTB Festival, a massive success, with Tristan De Lange winning ASL MTB for the 4th time. Xavier Papo finished 2nd and Herbert Peters 3rd, all riding for MBM.

 

In the womens race Irene Steyn (MBM) took the win with Michelle Doman 2nd and Lelani Swart 3rd.

 

South African Ben Melt Swanepoel proved to be in perfect shape after winning this weekends Nedbank RR XC3 in Swakopmund.

Swanepoel and team mate Yolandi du Toit riding for Garmin also won the Windhoek Light Namib Quest from Windhoek to Swakopmund as a mix team over 6 days which finished Friday morning 26/5/2017 in Swakopmund.

 

Drikus Coetzee (Team KIA Elite) finishing strong to take the win at Otjiwa MTB Eagle Ride with Fanie Steenkamp (Team KIA Elite) finishing in 2nd just behind his team mate.

Ingrim Cuff finished 3rd overall.

 

In the womens race Irene Steyn (MBM) took the victory with Jeanne Heunis 2nd and Anneke Steenkamp 3rd.

Costa Seibeb

It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Costa Seibeb, who sadly passed away after a car accident over the long weekend.

Costa visited Aus in the South of Namibia to compete  in a 3 day stage race, Klein-Aus Vista MTB Challenge. After day 2 Costa was well in the lead with 6 minutes over 2nd position rider Xavier Papo.

Unfortunately Costa never had the change to start stage 3 which would have been a sure win for him.

The loss of one of Namibia’s most talented cyclists leaves the community in shock.

Costa, we will always remember you as the King of the Mountain at the X Ride and Klein Aus Vista.

Rest in Peace Champion

Xavier Papo (MBM) took the win in a sprint finish over Brandon Plaatjes (KIA Elite) who finished 2nd and De Koe (Nedbank) in 3rd.

 

In the Womens race Michelle Vorster (KIA Elite) took the win with a 15 minute lead over 2nd position Irene Steyn (MBM). Michelle Doman finished in 3rd.

Costa Seibeb and Michelle Vorster tamed the the tough MTB X-Ride to take top spots.

Costa took King of the Mountain as well the Overall win. Xavier Papo was cowned King of the Gravel.

 

Michelle took Queen of the Gravel, Queen of the Mountain and Overall win for women.

South African Under 23 rider Wessel Botha took top honors in the 2017 Nedbank Rock and Rut XC1 (C1) event held in Windhoek Saturday 1 April. Namibians Costa Seibeb and Tristan De Lange finished 2nd and 3rd.

In the Elite Womens category South Africa's Cherie Redecker took the win over SA Champion Mariske Strauss in 2nd  and Vera Adrian from Namibia in 3rd.

In the Junior Men category, young Alex Miller from Namibia surprised all by wining his race with Pieter du Toit and Brendan Van Eeden from South Africa finihing 2nd and 3rd.

Today's 2017 Nedbank Namibian National XCM Championships (60km Men) was won by Costa Seibeb (Nedbank) with defending champion Till Drobisch finishing in 2nd and Xavier Papo (MBM) taking 3rd.

In the womens category defending champion Michelle Vorster (Team KIA Elite) took the win with Irene Steyn (MBM) taking 2nd place and Michelle Doman finishing 3rd.

Drikus Coetzee (Team KIA Elite) today showed his steel by winning the WPP 2 Dobra Loops race over a distance of 98km in a time of 3h30 29min with Fiffy Kashululu finishing 2nd in the Elite Category.

Solo rider Konny Looser from Switzerland wins 2016 Nedbank Desert Dash in a time of 14h37min45sec with Team KIA Elite (4 Person Mix Team) finishing seconds behind Looser.

Solo women rider Rebecca Robisch from Germany took the win for Solo women  in a time of 17h48min10sec

Costa Seibeb (Nedbank) and Michelle Vorster (Team KIA Elite) won the Elite categories at the Nedbank WPP 6 road race in Rehoboth

WPP 4 of the Nedbank WPP Road Cycling series took place on the Dordabis road east of Windhoek this morning.

 

Denzel de Koe surprised all by taking the win for Elite men over 100km in a time of 2:38:39 while Michelle Vorster from Team KIA Elite won the Elite womens category in a time of 1:51:59

 2016 Megabuild MTB and Wispeco Trail Run a huge success.

Costa Seibeb took the overall win on the 40Km MTB and Johanita de Waal showed her MTB talents by winning the womens category.

 

In the Trail Run Pinehas Erastus had the fastest legs and in the Womens category Henriette Crouse kicked dust in her competitors eyes.

Nolan Hoffmann,former Argus winner from South Africa and Michelle Vorster (Team KIA Elite) crowned champions of the 2016 The Namibian Pick n Pay Cycle Classic Road race.

Vorster (Team KIA Elite) also took the win yesterday in the MTB race over 50km and Xavier Papo (MBM) took the win for the men over the same distance.

The FNB Schools League MTB Finals took place this weekend.

Dan Craven and Vera Adrian represented Namibia in Road Cycling at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Although not one of them finished their race, the experience gained at the Olympic Games  will be valuable for cycling in Namibia.

DAN CRAVEN WON THE NATIONAL 2016 NAMIBIAN ROAD CYCLING CHAMPION TITLE AND VERA ADRIAN TOOK THE CROWN ELITE WOMENS CHAMPION.

Till Drobisch finished 2nd with Costa Seibeb 3rd in the Men Lite Category and Michelle Vorster also finished 2nd in the Elite Ladies category

TILL DROBISCH TODAY CLAIMED THE PUPKEWITZ MEGABUILD NAMIBIAN NATIONAL ITT TITLE FOR ELITE MEN WITH VERA ADRIAN, THE ONLY ELITE WOMEN ENTRY WINNING THE ELITE WOMENS TITLE.

Drobisch completed the 32.4 Km in 44 min 49.50sec with Dan Craven in 2nd position in 45 min 31.19 sec.

First over the finish line after 369Km on a Mountainbike, the 2man team from Mannies Bike Mecca,Team MBM - Tjipe Murangi and Max Knox in a time of 14hours,27min17seconds.

Solo men category was won by Konny Looser 15h03m20s and the Solo womens category by Rene Schoeman in a time of 19h11m49sec

Namibian riders Martin Freyer and Michael Pretorius from Team KIA Namiba won the Wines2Whales - Adventure MTB stage race

over 3 days  in South Africa.
